F. Carver purchased a fine new buggy. The Thirteen Towns, Fosston, Minnesota [Oct. 1943] Carver Obituary Orin Francis Carver, born at Burnham, Me., Feb 24, 1855, died at Bemidji Oct 16, at the age of 88. He was married to Emma Jane Pawley at Gladwin, Mich., in September, 1882. Mr. and Mrs. Carver came to Minneapolis from Michigan and spent a year working there for the Pillsbury Flour mills. They later moved to Fosston where they homesteaded and later Mr. Carver became interested in logging and for many years was head of the firm called Carver Brothers who logged in the Clearwater and Schoolcraft district operating for the Brainerd Lumber company and Red River Lumber company. He was in this business until poor health forced him to give up the work. After living at Guthrie for a number of years they moved to 719 15th street where they had lived for the past seven years. Funeral services were held at the Ibertson Funeral home Friday with interment at Greenwood. The Rev. A. J. Lockert officiated and Mrs. Delbert Gall and Mrs. Martines Ruskjer sang, accompanied by Miss Pearl Lockert. Pallbearers were I. A. Davis, Nels Willet, John Olson, Daniel Larson, Paul Flake and Harry Bechle. Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Luvina Price of Bremerton; two sons, Herbert of Santa Ana, and George of Brandt, S. D.; two brothers, Nathan and Fred, and one brother-in-law, Alex Fyffe, all of Fosston, 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
