Obituary for Alex Fyffe (Unlabeled photocopy sent to me in my genealogy scrapbook - looks like it was from a funeral memorandum.) Alex Fyffe died in 1951.
Alex Fyffe
Alex Fyffe was born April 3, 1864 in Tyrone county, Ireland. He passed away at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Hovel, at Campbell, Minn. on Sunday Dec. 9 at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 6 days.
He died after a short illness, having been confined to his bed since Thanksgiving day. Death was attributed to complications of old age.
He came to this country as a young man and was united in marriage to Bertha Carver in 1887 at Winthrop, Maine. They came to Fosston in 1892 and homesteaded in Brandsvold Township. He had made his home here ever since except for spending much of the time with his daughter at Campbell since 1945.
Mrs. Fyffe preceded him in death June 23, 1939 at their farm home north of Fosston.
Surviving are six children: Angie (Mrs. Carl Tufte) of Chauvin, Alta. Canada; Albert of Fosston, Rose (Mrs. Henry Van Hovel) of Campbell; Mark of Winona; Everett of Lodi, Calif. and Verna (Mrs. Harold Brager) of Fergus Falls.
