| The Carver Family of New England, Clifford Nickels Carver, 1935. Carver lists an Alanson as firstborn and unregistered birth. From marriage date to Ziba's birth is exactly the gestation time for the eldest child, Ziba, to be born at term. I'm including Alanson's birth here, but seriously doubt if Alanson (if he existed) belongs to this family, and should probably be taken off the list. Vital Records of Vinalhaven, Knox County, Maine Prior to 1892, Elizabeth M. Mosher, trans., Picton Press, Rockport, Maine, 1994, p.28 Births of children recorded in Vinalhaven. Vinalhaven has spelling of Elishua on fourth child. Unknown why Lucy has middle name of Thomas, although Carver suggests Israel was married twice. | ||||||||||||||||
