| Died between 6 Oct 1839-2 Dec 1839 Andrew served in Rev. War; after 1776 he went to Augusta, & then to Troy in 1793 with Sewall, land agent, and Caleb and Nicholas Dodge. Settled on 25 Mile Pond Plantation, Bridge Pet., first settler. Will of Andrew Bennett, date 6 Oct 1839, proved 2 Dec 1839 WILL OF ANDREW BENNETT TROY, MAINE 26 OCTOBER 1839 I Andrew Bennett of Troy in the county of Waldo and State of Maine knowing the uncertainty of life and being desirous of controlling the distribution of my property do make publish and declare the following as my last will and testament. First: I give and bequeath to my daughter Polly Brawn, to my son John Bennett and my son Moses Bennett one dollar each (they having received a portion of my property heretofore) Second: I give to my daughter Margaret Bickmore one lined back cow one single horse waggon and Harness. Thirdly: I give to my son Andrew Bennett Junior my cart wheels and six sheep. Forthly: I give to my son-in-law Orison Page all my Estate both real and personal not here in before disposed of where ever it may be found consisting in the name of the following items viz; the bog lot so claled lying East and adjoining Moses Bennett line and the post road also two horses one cow one barn [house?] on the lot I deeded said Page also the house hold furniture - To have and to hold to him his heirs and asigns forever - he paying all my debts funeral charges and expenses of the Probate of this my last will and testament. Sixthly: I do constitute and appoint Jesse Smart Sole Executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of Octgober in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty nine. mark Andrew Bennet his Signed and sealed by the said Andrew Bennett and by him declared to be his last will and testament in our presence and we and each of us in his presence and the presence of each other at the same time subscribed our names as witnesses. To Samuel Vinning Orville Tyler William Delano GREETINGS You are hereby appointed and empowered to take an Inventory of all the Real Estate, goods and chattels, rights and credits of which Andrew Bennett late of Troy in the county of Waldo aforesaid, Yoeman seized or possessed in said county, and according to your best skill and judgement, truly and justly to APPRAISE the same in dollars and cents, according to the present value there of: And when you shall have completed the said Inventory you are to deliver the same together with this Warrant, to the Executor of said Bennett who is to return the same unto the Probate Office of the said county, within three months from the date hereof. GIVEN under my hand and seal official at a Court of Probate held at Belfast, in said county, on the Sixth day of January A.D. 1840 A. Johnson JUJDGE Waldo, ss.
