Broodmares

    We consider the mares to be as important to our breeding program as the stallions. In fact, we're inclined to believe that a mare may contribute more to her offspring that does the sire. These mares represent a lot of thought. Some of them are the daughters of well known horses. Some are the daughters of horses we know and respect, whether they've been shown or not. Still others have proven themselves in the real world, where a horse still has to work for a living.  Regardless, we feel they are all the type you'd be proud to own and enjoy to ride. Those are the kind of mares that produce the colts that go on to be a friend and a partner.  Many of these mares are older.  Sometimes, to get the quality we want, at a price we can afford, we have to compromise on something. Rather than compromise on pedigree or performance, we've chosen to pick and keep a group that are older. They represent their own set of challenges, but, with the right management and a little luck, they can do the job.
