Kidder Kayaking - Kayaking Instruction

ACA INSTRUCTOR

I am a certified American Canoe Association Instructor in Sea Kayaking. It takes many steps to be certified. My final exam to become an instructor was three days long and took place in the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior

I offer two levels of kayaking instruction.

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE AREA

I first started teaching kayaking in the Brainerd Lakes Area about five years ago. In the past five years I have taught almost 200 people to kayak and also started a local kayak club called "Paddle Pushers". With hundreds of lakes and rivers right here in our area we don't have to go too far to have fun kayaking. Remember it only takes about four inches of water to use a kayak.

CLASSES OFFERED THIS SUMMER

Class One
This class follows the ACA (American Canoe Association) guidelines and is a solid introduction to the sport of Sea or Touring Kayaking. The class is designed both for first-time paddlers and for those who already own their own kayak. All equipment is provided.

Class Two
You have taken the Level One Course, you have been out paddling a few times on area lakes, but you feel you need more before you take on the bigger water. So what comes next? This course takes you to the next step.
