Service Rates
Effective August 2003
Our standard rates are $30.00 per hour for most services. In estimating certain jobs, we will use scheduled (menu) rates. Such rates should be used only as a guide, and may be adjusted up or down as a result of unforeseen circumstances. It is our practice to notify the customer if such circumstances arise.
Coverage Area
We provide service to the Brainerd Lakes Area and surrounding communities. If you need on-site service outside our normal coverage area, we can make arrangements to travel to your area. Travel time is charged at the rate of $20.00 per hour, round-trip. Expenses for lodging (when necessary) will be included separately.
Customer Responsibilities
The customer should be able to produce the software media and license information for operating systems, hardware and applications installed in the computer. For on-site service, the computer equipment and work area should be clean and easily accessible.
Depot Repair
For some jobs, on-site repair is not practical. This includes time-consuming work such as re-loading an operating system, data recovery or diagnostics & repair of machines suffering catastrophic failures. In these instances, we will coordinate with you the best method to get your computer to our shop. You may ship or deliver your system to our location, or we can pick it up. Please contact us for details prior to shipping a computer.
Data Recovery
Advanced data recovery work is performed by an independent affiliate and is billed separately from our normal shop charges. For systems suffering physical damage from water, fire or other disasters, a Discovery charge of $50.00 will be applied to determine the extent of the damage and the possibility of data recovery. If additional parts or materials are required during the course of this Discovery process, the customer will incur these charges. Data recovery rates - set by our affiliate - range between $600 and $2000 for electronic errors or malicious tampering and between $3000 and $6000 for data loss due to physical damage. Forensic services are also available.
