Stamping Inspiration

On the Lake Creations was officially launched in September of 2000. It has been a dream come true to start my own business and watch it grow.

Most people ask about my business, "So what do you create?" and "Do you live on a Lake?"

My passion is rubber stamping.  I discovered this wonderful hobby in 1997 at a rubber stamping party.  I feel in love as soon as I saw my first stamp demonstration.  I grew up as a child who felt very uncreative.  But when I got a stamp in my hand I knew I found something that would get my creativity flowing...and it did!

So thus the start of my creations.  I design and hand-make each card, one by one.  As a rubber stamper, you love to stamp on anything!  So I expanded to fabric.  Hand-painting and stamping tote bags is my newest love.  I like taking a blank canvas and turning it into something beautiful.

And to answer that other question....yes I live on a lake.  That's another dream come true.  Living in the woods of northern Minnesota on a small lake is so inspiring.

I hope you enjoy your time here, learning a little more about the woman behind the creations!

My gingerbread man card was published in the November/December Issue of The Rubber Stamper.

I gold embossed the gingerbread image (called Ginger Joy) on kraft brown cardstock.  To color the image, I used Tombow markers with my aquaflow brushes.  I used Brilliance Rocket Red to stamp the background and holiday saying.

My fall card was published in the October 2004 issue of Vamp Stamp News

I stamped the pumpkin image from the Fabulous Fall stamp set on paper cork.  I used watercolor crayons to color in the image.  I punched a small hole in each corner and inserted gold brads.  This is layered on orange and brown cardstock.  The saying is stamped all around the layered image in black ink.
