Direct from somewhere in the forests of central Minnesota comes
Skålmusik, a Scandinavian - American
gammaldans quintet founded in 1990. You will catch us playing
our music all around the upper midwest for dances or concerts
at festivals, schools and community events....wherever midwesterners
gather to celebrate their heritage. The Barnburner
is our second recording and it features our fiddle section.
Our first recording, Gammaldans i Skogen, highlighted
our accordion playing so we thought it was high time to balance
things off a bit. This recording was executed at our extremely
high tech Timmerhus studios near Deerwood, Mn.
Mary Abendroth - guitar, harmonium, vocals
Arne Anderson - fiddle, piano accordion, viking chorus
Bob Anderson - stand up bass, viking chorus
Harold Herboldt - piano accordion
Paul Wilson - button box, drone fiddle, Moosehead beer bottle w/ #2 pencils, viking chorus
