The Skål Klubb is a widely known Scandinavian fiddling group from the Brainerd lakes area of Minnesota. Founded in 1990, the Skål Klubb is a group of 14 musicians playing mostly gammaldans music from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. They play on fiddles, accordions, guitar, pump organ, recorder and double bass. This live recording was made on two Saturday nights in early 1998. The first, in February, at the Odd Fellows hall in Brainerd, Mn.; and the second, in April, at the Senior's Center in Pequot Lakes, Mn. What you hear is exactly what happened those nights. We set up a few microphones and let the digital recorder whirl madly away. This recording is dedicated to Roy Svedvik, a classy Swedish gentleman.
