Race History
The Mid-Minnesota 150 is entering it's 24th year and is the 2nd longest running
sled dog race in Minnesota. Al Larson & Dan Levno are the current race organizers.
The first race began in 1988 in Deerwood, ran to Aitkin, Palisade, Remer, Outing,
back to Aitkin and finished in Deerwood. The following year McGregor was added
to the trail route. This format was followed for a number of years, starting in a
different community each year.
Over the years a number of things have changed, including the locations.
Even though mother nature has not always cooperated with us, one thing is for
certain... we have always been able to have a race and will continue to keep the
Mid-MN 150 tradition alive.
