A SINNER’S PRAYER Jesus, I know I have sinned
and broken God’s laws.
Please forgive me and come into my life
and wash all my sins away.
I know that you are the Son of God and
the Lamb of God who died for my sins.
Jesus, please be Lord of my life.

WELCOME TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD
WE are rejoicing with YOU and the ANGELS in your decision.
If you have prayed a sinner’s prayer and have honestly accepted Jesus as Lord of your life, your sins are forgiven: you are born again. You may feel a joy in your life like nothing you have ever felt: you may be crying or laughing, or your mind may be simply going over things realizing that Jesus is the Son of God and Lord of everything, including yourself.1. Praise
Thank Jesus for what He has done.
Thank God the Father for sending his Son Jesus so that you can be saved.
Thank the Holy Spirit for convicting and convincing you of your need.2. Prayer
Prayer is simply talking with God–just like you would talk with your friend. You can do it in your mind. You can do it out loud. You can whisper. You can even shout in anger or frustration. But talk to Him.The Bible suggests that prayer in your closet–a private location–is most effective. If you and Jesus were riding in a car across the country, what would you two talk about? That should be your prayer life.
3. You don’t have to sin
Some sins will immediately be gone. Others tend to hang on. But now, the Holy Spirit will help you to not sin. You are free to NOT SIN. Before you were born again, you were a slave to sin. You could not help but sin–it was your nature. But now you are taking on the nature of Jesus Christ and you don’t have to sin anymore. That does not mean the temptation won’t be there–it will–and probably stronger than you have ever experienced. But now you don’t have to sin. Resist that specific sin temptation for a minute or an hour. With the Spirit’s help, you can put off that sin-temptation until tomorrow. If you fail–and we all have failed many times–you have an advocate with the Father known as Jesus Christ who comes to your defense. Ask Him to forgive you again. He will. He is faithful. And then ask Him to keep you from that specific temptation. Is that not part of the Lord’s Prayer?
4. Spiritual Food
Since your soul has been reborn–born again-you will need spiritual food–we all need to eat to grow. Spiritual food comes from several places. The best source is your own Bible. If you don’t have one, get one–or ask for one. Some will ask which version? There are so many? The best answer is, “The one you will read.”
• The New International Version (NIV) is an American translation finished in about 1978. It uses modern American English.
• The King James Version (KJV) has been around since 1611 and many people grew up loving that British translation–it uses words from the time of Shakespeare: thee’s and thou’s.
There are plenty of others–the best one is the one you will actually read–and read regularly.5. Christian Fellowship
Some people call this “church,” but the church is actually just the people–and you are now part of “the holy universal church” also known as the “Body of Christ.” The Bible says not to isolate yourself from other Christians. The reason is for encouragement. Everyone is to help everyone else in their Christian life–to help keep each other from sin. And you can start praying for your new friends as well as your old ones. Also, within the church are people who are servants of God and servants of the church who will teach you. Their job is to equip the people to do God’s work. Known as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastor/teachers, these people are not to be worshiped or admired like a star or hero–that type of honor belongs to Jesus alone–but they are to be listened to and learned from.
Daily Prayer Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) gives a pattern:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Daily Praise To learn how, read a Psalm or two a day–they are in the middle of your Bible. To learn righteous living, read a chapter of Proverbs everyday: read the chapter that is the same date of the month. Daily Righteousness
Daily Bible Start reading in the New Testament in the following order.
Read as much as you can.
__ __ Mark
__ __ Matthew
__ __ Luke
__ __ Acts
__ __ John
__ __ Romans
Then read those same books again, this time looking at the various cross references into the Old Testament and other places in the New Testament. Bring questions to the rest of the church–it will encourage them and you will learn more.

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today,
so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
